Abstract

|
A case of IgA multiple myeloma with clinical features of the hyperviscosity syndrome (HVS) is presented. The common chief complaints were headache, epistaxis, gum bleedings and those associated with the symptoms of anemia. IgA multiple myeloma was confirmed by bone marrow aspiration, electrophoresis and immunoelectrophoresis. Bone X-rays was compatible with those of multiple myeloma. Plasmapheresis was effective in reducing blood gelatification and improving the clinical condition.
